Students in the Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism, and Event Management program had the opportunity to embark on a valuable field trip to La Prima Coffee Roasters, a renowned local coffee roastery. The tour provided students with a unique opportunity to learn about the coffee-making process from bean to cup, gaining invaluable insights into the industry. 

During the tour, students witnessed firsthand the intricacies of coffee roasting, from green bean selection and roasting profiles to quality control and packaging. Sam Patti, the owner and founder of La Prima Coffee Roasters, graciously shared his extensive knowledge and expertise with the students, answering their questions and providing valuable industry perspectives. 

“This field trip was an incredible learning experience for our students,” said faculty member Nicole Clevenger. “La Prima Coffee Roasters offered a unique glimpse into the world of specialty coffee, allowing our students to connect classroom theory with real-world practice.”
