Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism, and Event Management students Jade Peffer, Sky Eakin-Irwin, Sarah Johnson, and Ben Salvo, with faculty member Stephen B. Shiring, volunteered to work the information booth on Gobbler’s Knob for Groundhog’s Day 2025.

The students volunteered on Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The students then joined Shiring on Sunday, Feb. 2, from 6:30 to 10:00 a.m., providing support to thousands of attendees and helping them to navigate the event.

Shiring and the students were joined by the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club’s Inner Circle member Harry “Butch” Philliber, also known as the Iceman, and Shiring’s wife, Tammie.
