The University Museum at Ä¢¹½tv is pleased to present “Reflections: An Alumni Discussion,” a special Artist Talk featuring three Ä¢¹½tv alumni artists: Trish Dodson, Lauren Scavo-Fulk, and Rhonda Yeager. This engaging discussion will take place on Wednesday, February 26, at 7:00 p.m. Attendees will hear firsthand about the artistic processes, inspirations, and experiences that have shaped their work.
The Artist Talk is presented in conjunction with Alumni Artistry: The Aesthetic Legacy of Ä¢¹½tv, an exhibition celebrating 150 years of creative excellence at Ä¢¹½tv. Featuring works from alumni artists across the nation, the exhibition highlights the diverse and enduring artistic contributions of Ä¢¹½tv’s graduates.
About the Artists
Trish Dodson earned her BS in art education from Ä¢¹½tv in 1986 and her MA in 1991, specializing in fibers with a concentration in drawing and a minor in woodworking. She taught art to special needs students for ARIN IU 28 and worked at Blairsville elementary, middle, and high schools, also serving as a gifted coach before retiring in 2022. An active member of the Indiana Art Association, she founded its summer arts camp in 2001 and has run it through 2024. Dodson continues to create handmade paper and paint in her spare time while enjoying life in Indiana, PA, with her husband, son, and two grandchildren.
Lauren Scavo-Fulk is an MFA graduate from Ä¢¹½tv. She explores the deep connection between human consciousness and the surrounding environment through her work. Her art presents atmospheric scenes that invite reflection and contemplation, emphasizing the ways in which sensory experiences shape personal and emotional interpretations of place. By capturing both the physical and nonphysical elements of the world, she encourages viewers to engage in a dialogue between external landscapes and internal narratives.
Rhonda Yeager was an art history major, graduating in 1997 from Ä¢¹½tv’s Art and Design Department. She pursued graduate studies at Clarion University, Chatham University, and Ä¢¹½tv. Yeager has worked as an adjunct professor in the Art and Design Department for many years and currently serves as the Ä¢¹½tv Museum Collection curator and manager.
Attendees of “Reflections: An Alumni Discussion” will gain insight into the creative journeys of these talented alumni, as well as the themes and techniques present in their work. The event offers an opportunity to engage with the artists, ask questions, and gain a deeper appreciation for the artistic legacy fostered at Ä¢¹½tv.
