For the second consecutive year, Ģtv has broken all previous total student enrollment records with a Fall 2010 enrollment of 15,126.
This enrollment includes 3,128 freshmen, 680 transfer students, and 2,299 graduate students. Since 2007, enrollment has grown by more than 1,108 students, or 7.9 percent, across all Ģtv instructional sites and campuses.
In addition, the Fall 2010 freshman class has an improved average SAT score over classes in the recent past.
“We've had two years of record-breaking enrollment, with academically stronger students,” Dr. David Werner, interim president, said. “These record-breaking numbers—which include a commitment to retention of continuing students—reflect a universitywide commitment to excellence on all fronts: teaching, advising and mentoring; service to students and their families; strategic admissions and marketing; and maintaining the physical plant. Everyone at this university should be proud of this achievement.”
Currently, Ģtv's out-of-state enrollment is at 12 percent of its overall student population, or 1,802 students. Overall, 13 percent of all Ģtv students (2,013) are minority and 4.3 percent (649) are international. Close to seventy countries are represented within Ģtv's international student population.
Ģtv received 12,755 undergraduate applications for Fall 2010 admission, 670 more than for Fall 2009. Ģtv also had a record number of on-campus visitations by prospective first-year and transfer students.
The university closed general admission for freshmen in April.
