Khadija Zakki, a student in Ä¢¹½tv’s Geography-Geographical Information Science and Geospatial Technology master’s program originally from Guelmim, Morocco, has received a grant from the Institute of International Education designed to help international students continue their studies when a natural disaster, war, or other crisis happen in their home countries.
A magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck Morocco on September 8.
Zakki is Ä¢¹½tv’s tenth international student to receive this funding. The IIE scholarship requires an application from the home institution and is awarded to a very limited number of qualified students throughout the United States.
Zakki is the recipient of an Ä¢¹½tv graduate scholarship and an International Student Fellowship. She participated in the university’s Unity Day and International Education Week events.
