Ä¢¹½tv Masters of Arts in Performance graduate SIcheng He will give a solo recital this Friday, March 3, at 7:00 p.m., in Gorell Recital Hall (second floor of ). The program will include works by Scarlatti, Haydn, Liszt, Guarnieri, and Stockhausen. Admission is free.
He graduated from Ä¢¹½tv in May 2020 and is a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at James Madison University, studying with Brazilian pianist Paulo Steinberg. He is also a teaching assistant at JMU, teaching undergraduate class piano and serving as a vocal coach and collaborative pianist. A native of China, SIcheng received his undergraduate degree from Shenyang Conservatory, studying with Professor Yiyin Zhang, and his Master of Arts in Performance degree from Ä¢¹½tv, studying with Henry Wong Doe. While a student at Ä¢¹½tv, Sicheng worked with students at the Ä¢¹½tv Community Music School.
He will give a masterclass to pre-college students from the Indiana area and Ä¢¹½tv piano majors on Saturday, March 4, at 11:00 a.m. in Room 120.
