Following an eight-year hiatus, the Keystone Wind Ensemble returned to Ä¢¹½tv in November 2023 to present a reunion concert. Based on the success of that performance, the ensemble returned in November 2024 for a second performance.
The Keystone Wind Ensemble is a concert band comprised of approximately 50 woodwind, brass, and percussion players, established by Jack Stamp in 1992. The Keystone Wind Ensemble is sponsored by Ä¢¹½tv, and all members have a direct affiliation with the university as alumni, students, faculty, or administrators. While the ensemble was formed for the express purpose of recording new and more traditional works from the concert band repertoire for national release on compact disc, it has also performed at numerous national and international conferences.
Approximately 60 musicians returned to Ä¢¹½tv for a series of rehearsals that culminated in a performance on November 3, codirected by Jack Stamp (BS, 1976), director of Bands at Ä¢¹½tv from 1990 until 2015, and Timothy Paul, current director of Bands at Ä¢¹½tv. Alumni and former music faculty from as far away as Arizona, Texas, California, and Wisconsin participated in the event.
