Dr. Michael (Mike) Sell
Mike Sell is professor of Language, Literature, and Writing at Ä¢¹½tv, where he researches and teaches playful literatures, such as video games and tabletop roleplaying games, and movies and novels about people who make and play games.
Sell is co-author of Systemic Dramaturgy: A Handbook for the Digital Age (Southern Illinois University 2022) and co-editor of Ready Reader One: The Stories We Tell With, Around, and About Videogames (Louisiana State University Press 2024). He is the founder and codirector of the Digital Storytelling Project, a public digital humanities project that supports K-12, university, and nonprofit organization educators in the incorporation of storytelling, game design, and decision education into their curricula.
Sell regularly plays Dungeons & Dragons and Monster of the Week, and his (current) favorite video game is Disco Elysium.

Dr. Frederick (Rick) Adkins
Rick Adkins is passionate about STEM education and uses creative engineering to design and build innovative solutions to solve complex real-world problems. As an Ä¢¹½tv Mathematical and Computer Sciences faculty member since 1996, with a PhD in applied mathematical and computational sciences and an MS in mechanical engineering from the University of Iowa, his expertise spans numerical methods, mechanical engineering, applied mathematics, and computational modeling.
Adkins also serves as a director of the Ä¢¹½tv STEAMSHOP, a state-of-the-art rapid prototyping and fabrication laboratory, where he oversees industry-focused projects and mentors students in real-world application development. He has been actively involved in interdisciplinary research, securing multiple National Science Foundation grants to support STEM education, computational mathematics, and student mentorship initiatives. His research interests include machine learning, biomedical informatics, supercomputing, and mathematical modeling, with many publications and conference presentations.
Through his teaching, research, and mentorship, Adkins has made significant contributions to the advancement of applied mathematics, computational sciences, and technological innovation.
