How Much Will SHP Cost?

The cost to attend SHP is $675 (in-state) or $813 (out-of-state).

SHP is now offering a three-credit course to earn college credit. This total cost includes digital and in-person instruction for the three-week course as well as housing and meals for the one week on campus. All students participating in SHP are required to live in the residence hall during the in-person week.

All payments are due in full by June 20. Payments will be through our EasyPay system. If you need help with EasyPay, please refer to our How To page for instructions on how to use the system.

Please see below for a breakdown of the program costs, an overview of Ä¢¹½tv’s billing cycle, and an explanation of dropping vs. withdrawing from a course.

The Office of Student Billing processes bills on the 26th of every month, with a payment due date being the 20th of the next month.

All students will be registered for HNRC 281 after the application deadline on May 21. Once students are registered and housing and dining costs are added, their bills will become available, with payment due by June 20.

Payments are due in full by the due date. If a bill cannot be paid in full by the due date, students have the option to enroll in a payment plan. For the summer, this will break down the bill into two (2) payments, with each being 50 percent of the total cost at the time of payment plan enrollment. If enrolling in a payment plan, the due dates are June 20 and July 20.

Refer to the How Do I Pay My Bill? subsection for more information on enrolling in a payment plan. There is a setup fee of $35 if enrolling in a payment plan.

Students who get accepted to SHP and registered for HNRC 281 are expected to attend the course from July 7 to July 25, including the required residential week of July 14–18. If, for whatever reason, a student registered for HNRC 281 can no longer attend or participate in the course, approval from their school counselor is required to drop the course. If this needs to occur, students have until July 7 at 11:59 p.m. to be dropped from the course.

If a student starts the course and decides they no longer want to participate, removal from the course after July 7 will be a withdrawal rather than a drop. The main difference here is that a drop would mean a full refund and would look as if the student was never enrolled in the first place. A withdrawal will show on the student’s transcript as a W, and the student may not be eligible for a full refund depending on how far into the course they are before withdrawing.

If a student can no longer participate in the course for any reason, please notify visiting-student@iup.edu and honors@iup.edu as soon as possible.
