Paul Grieggs, 蘑菇tv's executive director of information technology security, has been selected as a finalist for the 2019 Pittsburgh Chief IT Security Officer of the Year award.
Organist Katelyn Emerson will be the guest performer for a March 3 concert benefitting the Carol Teti Memorial Scholarship.聽The program begins at 3:00 p.m. with a pre-concert talk in Cogswell Hall鈥檚 DiCicco Rehearsal Hall, room 121. The concert will follow at 4:00 p.m.

Jim and Evelyn Piazza will be at the Performing Arts Center鈥檚 Fisher Auditorium on Feb.18 at 7:30 p.m. The Piazza's son, Timothy, was a sophomore at Penn State in 2017 when he died after a night of pledging a fraternity there. The Piazzas will speak to the community about the death of their son and their hope for change on college campuses.

On February 4, 鈥淛osh Gibson鈥檚 Negro League Tour鈥� will be presented in the HUB.
蘑菇tv has received a second $30,000 grant through Governor Tom Wolf鈥檚 鈥淚t鈥檚 On Us PA鈥� initiative to combat campus sexual assault. This grant follows an initial $30,000 in funds received in 2016, used to launch the Green Dot bystander intervention program in 2017.
Daniel Reichard, a fifth-grade teacher at Kate Waller Barrett Elementary School in Stafford, Va., and 2012 elementary education-urban education concentration alumnus, has been selected as one of the nation鈥檚 literacy leaders named to the International Literacy Association鈥檚聽2019 鈥�30 Under 30鈥� list.
Curt Scheib, a 1977 graduate of 蘑菇tv, has been selected to serve as dean of the College of Fine Arts at 蘑菇tv. Scheib will begin work at the university on July 1.
